Parents and family are welcome to visit and participate in activities throughout the year. Informal day-to-day contact with your child’s teachers is welcomed. At the end of each week, a “What We Did This Week” notice is sent to parents via e-mail by the teachers; it summarizes specific books read, songs sung, ideas and themes discussed, and special or significant events. Once a month, the “Noah’s Ark News” is distributed to keep families informed from an administrative level. 

There is a Noah’s Ark Parent Group whose mission is to build a sense of community and tradition beyond the classroom. The group arranges social gatherings throughout the year for the families and supports the school in its goals. The Parent Group welcomes any level of involvement.   We also have room parents.  These individuals foster a sense of community for the families of their particular class, as well as work with the larger parent group.  They plan class wide events, create meal trains for families welcoming new babies or other transitions in life and keep families apprised of community events.    

Noah's Ark offers parents the chance to meet with their child's teacher twice a year.  Early fall we offer 10 minutes with the teacher. You will have the opportunity to meet briefly with one of your child’s teachers to share preliminary information about your child and what you would like your child to gain from his or her preschool experience.  

Children receive a written assessment in January and May, the January assessment is accompanied by a parent conference. Teachers meet formally with individual parents to discuss their child’s development, their activities and participation at the school. Parents and teachers collaborate on goals for the child.  With prior notice to a teacher and/or director, individual parental conferences can be arranged at any time in addition to the two yearly meetings.
